JALANDHAR

This city is situated in the south-east of Amritsar and was once the capital of an ancient Hindu kingdom. This town has a large seral built in 1857 and is a good to get out and see some Sikh farming villages.

Jalandhar is only 80 Km. from Amritsar. Jalandhar was flourishing city under the Mughals. The monuments in and around the city include the 800 year old man. Nasir Mausoleum, the Devi Talab, a large masonry tank sacred to the Hindus, built about 200 years ago and the four centuries old Jama Masjid.

Jalandhar has the most beautiful Golden Devi Talab Mandir of Durga, which is a place of tourist interest in the town. The temple surrounding by water falls.
