| INTRODUCTION
Palitana is famous for its holy
hill, Shatrunjaya, the most sacred of the five hills of
the Jains. From the summit of the hill, on which stand
hundreds of Jain temples, one can have a magnificent
panorama of scenic beauty. Some of the temples probably
date back to the 11th century. Palitana is 56 Km by
road from Bhavnagar.
