CIDCO
has developed an IT Hardware Park at Dronagiri in an
area of 400 Hectares. It is located adjacent to India's
most modern containerised port, the Jawaharlal Nehru
Port (JNPT). The IT Hardware Park is a High-Tech Habitat
with all the facilities for the IT Hardware industry as
envisaged in the recommendations of the National Task
Force set up by the office of the Prime Minister for the
development of Information Technology, Software and
Hardware. All financial and other incentives as offered
by the Govt. of Maharashtra's IT Policy are applicable
to units in the IT-Hardware Park. This PArk is well
connected by four-lane national highways to Pune, Goa,
Hyderabad, Bangalore and the rest of North India. The
railways are running regular container specials via the
park from JNPT to the rest of India by a well laid out
rail track. Mass Rapid Transport commuter rail line
connecting Mumbai and other parts of Navi Mumbai being
constructed and expected to be existing to international
and domestic airports at Sahar/Santacruz as well as
proposed Navi Mumbai and Mandwa Airports. Mumbai Port
would also be accessible with the completion of the Sea
Link Project. High Speed hovercraft facilities from JNPT
to south Mumbai already existing.
The Supporting Facilities
*

*
Adequate skilled manpower avaliable.
*
Adequate power supply available with MSEB's gas-based
power station located in the park itself.
*
Commercial complexes for housing offices ready. Can be
used for commencing operations while factory premises
are being built.
*
Good backbone of voice and data communication facilities
already laid out.
*
Enormous warehousing facilities available adjacent to
the park.
*
Housing townships already constructed by CIDCO and
available immediately.
*
Social infrastructure like educational facilities,
shopping and entertainment already existing.
The
IT Hardware Park is an ideal destination for Foreign and
Indian Multinational Companies to set up manufacturing
facilities where domestic as well as export production
can be seamlessly integrated. The availability of a
modern port just next door would make exports most
competitive. The availability of good road, rail as well
as air system of transportation to the rest of the
country renders the vast domestic Indian market within
easy reach and that too at competitive prices. Economies
of scale can be exploited as well as the export market
at very low production costs. |
