Law aims to contribute to healthy growth of domestic
economy, improvement of the people's lives and
development of international economy by facilitating
researches for key technologies in private sectors and
by taking measures to improve such technologies.

Law
concerning the Improvement of System for Research and
Development in the Field of Industrial Technology This
law stipulates measures to encourage comprehensive and
effective implementation of research and development in
industrial technology and the establishment of research
facilities by the New Energy and Industrial Technology
Development Organization, and to promote joint
international research in industrial technology through
entrustment by the government or by the above
organization. Through these measures, the law seeks to
promote the improvement of industrial technology and
international exchange in technical fields and thereby
contribute to the medium and long term development of
the national economy in harmony with the international

The Law aims at effective use of human and economic
resources for research through cooperative tests and
researches on mining and manufacturing technology.

concerning Promotion of Research and Development and
Diffusion of Social Welfare Equipment In order to
promote independence among persons who have difficulty
conducting their daily affairs because of physical or
mental impairment and among persons with disabilities,
while at the same time reducing the burden on care
providers for these persons, the law seeks to promote
the development and diffusion of social welfare
equipment and thereby contribute both to the advancement
of welfare for the above persons and to the improvement

Measurement
Law The Law aims to contribute to economic and cultural
development by stipulating the basis of quantity
measurement and by ensuring proper measurement. (Weights

Industrial
Standardization Law This law seeks to promote industrial
standardization in Japan in order to improve the quality
of industrial products, to rationalize production, to
promote fair business practices and rationalize use and
consumption through enactment and diffusion of Japanese
Industrial Standards (JIS) and operation of the JIS mark
system and the laboratory accreditation system.
