the Law is free transactions with other countries
including foreign exchanges, trade of goods and services.
By minimum control and intervention for the purpose of
healthy development of such transactions, the Law aims at

well as healthy development of Japanese economy.

for the Conservation of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna
and Flora The Law aims to protect the natural environment
by conservation of endangered species of wild fauna and
flora, and thereby contribute to secure public health and
cultural richness. It also stipulates regulations of

Tariff Law The Law stipulates the customs tariff system
including tariff rates, standards of assessment, tariffs

Temporary Measures Law The Law stipulates provisional
exceptions to Customs Tariff Law and Customs Law
concerning modifications of tariff rates of necessary

Trade Insurance Law The Law aims at healthy development of
transactions with other countries including foreign trade
by establishing an insurance system for cases uncovered by
ordinary insurance, such as the restriction of foreign

Law
on Extraordinary Measures for the Promotion of Imports and
the Facilitation of Foreign Direct Investment in Japan The
Law consists of measures to promote import and to
facilitate foreign direct investment (FDI) into Japan.
Regarding import promotion, the Law stipulates measures to
assist activities contributing to promotion of imports
conducted at harbors, airports and areas surrounding those
places. Concerning facilitating the FDI into Japan, the
Law
stipulates measures to support foreign affiliates with tax schemes and

Law
concerning Japan External Trade Organization The Law stipulates
matters of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) including
operations, financing, directors and officers. The objective of JETRO
is to carry out comprehensively and effectively the activities
concerning the promotion of Japan's international trade and to conduct
basic and comprehensive research of the economy and related
circumstances of the Asian region, among others, disseminate the
results of such research, and thereby contribute to the expansion of
international trade and promotion of economic cooperation with such

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). JICA undertakes
