Malaysia International Shipping
Corporation (MISC), the national shipping line of Malaysia
formed in 1968, operates a modern and diversified fleet of
vessels of 63 with a combined tonnage of 2,36 million
deadweight tonnes. The varied fleet mix gives MISC the
capability to operate in diverse domestic and international
trades MISC is extensively involved in container shipping
services, offering regular sailings between various ports
in the Straits region, Australia, New Zealand, the Far
East, the Gulf and the Indian Sub-continent, Europe and the
Mediterranean. MISC is a large carrier of vegetables oils
from Southeast Asia including palm oil from Malaysia which
is the major component of this trade. These cargoes
together with chemicals and other products, are served by
modern tankers. Its five LNG carriers shuttle between gas
fields in Sarawak to Japan.
